Hello, lovely readers! Isn't it exhilarating when we have the chance to bring someone else's creative vision to life? That was exactly our exciting task this past August, at the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It was our privilege to be trusted by Meyers Manx to translate their designs into a captivating reality. Envisioning an architectural spectacle amidst the lush landscape of Pebble Beach, the designs featured a standalone post and beam structure. Where some might see just a blueprint, we saw an opportunity for creative exploration and crafting a work of art. The result was a structure that showcased not only sophistication but also an embodiment of the designer's concept. This project assigned us the valuable role as the interpreting artist, taking the designs from paper sketches to tangible experiences. Every stakeholder, from our hardworking builders to our attentive project managers, took immense pride in this role and their contribution to making it a successful endeavor. With these stylized kiosks, the task was to create a trinity of architectural gems, each unique in character but harmonious as a collective. With precision and attention to detail, we turned the client's vision into these three freestanding marvels, perfect backdrops against the scenic views of Pebble Beach. The designs from our client called for luxurious lounges nested inside these homes. Drawing from their ideas, we built and installed chic, custom-made lounges, a bar, flats and bookshelves, with each piece potently echoing the style of Meyers Manx. The interiors demanded a touch of vibrancy. What better way to achieve this than with the playfulness of neon installations? And so, we infused the spaces with this luminous, youthful energy as per the designs provided to us. This project assigned us the valuable role as the interpreting artist, taking the designs from paper sketches to tangible experiences. Every stakeholder, from our hardworking builders to our attentive project managers, took immense pride in this role and their contribution to making it a successful endeavor. The joy on everyone's faces, the satisfaction our client derived from the finished installation, and the admiration of the visitors at the event - all these were testaments to our hard work and passion.
To have been part of Meyers Manx's creative journey at Pebble Beach, to have been given the chance to interpret their designs into a rewarding reality was truly a privilege. Here's to all the dreams we get to build and the stories we assist to tell! See you in the next adventure, Joe

On the outskirts of San Diego Comic-Con 2023, spectators witnessed an extraordinary fusion of imagination and excitement: the "Brain Dead and Revenge of Magic Gathering Tournament," a must-attend event for all Magic the Gathering fans. FTB.DESIGN meticulously crafted the staging, accents, tables, and dressing, transforming an offsite location into a fantasy battle arena worthy of Magic the Gathering's vibrant lore. Urban streetwear brand, Brain Dead, ramped up the excitement with a drop of exclusive merchandise, tailored for the die-hard Comic-Con crowd. But the Brain Dead team didn’t stop at apparel; they fueled the event ambiance, dominating the decks and controlling the DJ space. The sought-after Commander Tournament was deftly orchestrated by Revenge Of, adding dimension and a thrilling competitive edge to the gathering. Magic the Gathering enthusiasts eagerly took up the challenge, livening the event with their enthusiasm and camaraderie. At the "Brain Dead and Revenge Of Magic the Gathering Tournament", the worlds of fashion, music, and competitive card games collided, creating an atmosphere as electric as San Diego Comic-Con itself. A celebration of Magic the Gathering and the San Diego Comic-Con community's spirit, the tournament highlighted the magic that can happen at the intersection of passion, creativity, and unity. We are still buzzing after the absolute blast we had hosting Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, and Scott Hepburn for the launch of their Minor Threats collection in an event sponsored by Revenge Of and produced by FTB.DESIGN, we were running on all cylinders. MINOR THREATS, Big RewardsIf you're unfamiliar, Minor Threats is a comic series described as The Watchmen meets The Boys. When the sidekick to a superhero is murdered by a B-level villain as a ploy to launch himself into the A-league, the city turns into an indiscriminate hunting ground for any and all villains, no matter how small the transgression or how ancient the past is. A rag-tag group of d-listers bands together to save their own skin, trying to track down the aspiring murderer to quench the thirst of a righteous superhero driven mad with rage. Not only does the book SLAP, but the creators are absolutely delightful. Writers Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum attended, and artist Scott Hepburn flew in from Canada to join the celebration. The recent Lotzilla - ParKing of Paradise event was an absolute blast, organized by FTB.DESIGN for Revenge Of. There were a plethora of exceptional vendors in attendance, each bringing their unique flair to the event. Notably, Crocodile Jackson left a lasting impression with their stunning artwork and interactive 'shooting' gallery, while Velvet Apparition offered a variety of spooky items and antiquities that were sure to pique your interest. The Psychic Friends Club was also in attendance, showcasing their one-of-a-kind creations, and Purgatory Candles had a mesmerizing display of candles that caught the eye of many attendees. Additionally, Disperse Press was present, launching a super cool 'Last Action Hero' shirt that was a hit among those in attendance. Mystic Dylan, on the other hand, offered readings that were both insightful and thought-provoking. And let's not forget about the delicious food served by Los Cochinitos and the mouth-watering treats from Nomadic Ice Pops. Suffice to say, the event was a resounding success, and everyone had a phenomenal time. To see our community highlights, check out our Instagram. Over at Revenge Of, May featured the return of LOTZILLA, but this year the King has taken a more relaxing role as the ParKing of Paradise. Kicking up their heels and relaxing in the summer sun is exactly what the ParKing (and everyone else) needs right now. With lots of vendors and photo ops, the event was a huge success and only promises to get bigger as the summer continues with the next event scheduled for June 17th. When we were approached to build the NBCU FYC House, we jumped at the opportunity. Bringing glamor, precision and experience to this build was a breeze given clear communication with our excellent clients, Hudson Gray. We're very proud with how this project turned out and look forward to more projects like this in the future! Photo courtesy of Michi. Every so often, you get the awesome opportunity to collaborate on a project that EVERYONE is excited about, and this was a dream come true. When Brain Dead approached Revenge Of with their desire to revive their Magic the Gathering tournament, FTB was excited at the opportunity to flex our design muscles for an exciting event. Producing tables that fit four playfields, designing a prize wheel to randomize the commander decks, a booth that would function as home-base for the Revenge Of team, a leaderboard featuring the iconic Brain Dead logo and the trophy to top all trophies, FTB went ALL OUT. The event was a screaming success and everyone who participated had an excellent afternoon. The tournament ended in an upset, but the possibility of an ongoing event series was solidified.
